The Youth Creative Ideas Contest is organized by The Center of Science and Technology Development in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City’s Vietnam Union of Youth. The purpose of the contest is to encourage creativity and inspire curiosity among students. Through the contest, young scholars will have the chance to share their critical thoughts and perhaps even put them into practical use, ultimately to solidify youths’ role in building the city’s future.
Vietnamese-national students from the age of 6 to 30 years old living and working domestically or internationally are eligible to enter the contest.
Ideas present in the contest must be new ideas that solve practical problem and can be implement into reality within a reasonable timeframe. Contestants will present their ideas in full details (Practical problem, content of the idea, solution and recommendation….). Ideas will be grade by the appointed judging panel of the competition.
Ultimately, this contest is about finding ideas that can contribute to the future of Ho Chi Minh City, to improve the lives of its citizens, to modernize social values, and to adhere to the 7 innovation programs of the city in order to clearly define the future steps that the city will take toward engineering and techological improvement. Specifically, ideas that: Improve skill level of workers; Push administrative reforms, Improve growth rate in terms of economic competitiveness; Reduce traffic congestions; Reduce flooding, Combat climate change and rising sea level; Reduce pollution, Revovate urban areas. In 2018, The Organizing Commitee will allow contestant to submit their ideas online at ytuong.khoahoctre.com.vn. The deadline for submission is 10/9/2018. The Semi-final will be held on September 2018, the Final was held on November 2018.
Award Structure:
- 1 First place prize: 5,000,000 VND and a Certicate from the Vietnam Union of Youth of Ho Chi Minh City
- 1 Second place prize: 3,000,000 VND and a Certicate from the Vietnam Union of Youth of Ho Chi Minh City
- 1 Third place prize: 2,000,000 VND and a Certicate from the Vietnam Union of Youth of Ho Chi Minh City
- Consolation prizes: 1,000,000 VND and a Certicate from the Vietnam Union of Youth of Ho Chi Minh City
- 1 Team prize: 2,000,000 VND and a Certicate from the Vietnam Union of Youth – for contestants with excellent conduct during live broacast and contribute significantly to the competition
