Youth IT Contest in Ho Chi Minh City is hosted annually by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications, the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training, the Television and the City Association of Information Technology to discover, gather and foster talents, young talents in the field of Information Technology. Arouse the passion of the youth to explore, learn, apply science and technology in learning & real life… Through which, discovering, fostering young talents to develop their skills and lead them to the national competitions.
Launched from February to May 2018, The Contest was organized in 24/24 districts of Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, the Organizing Committee also launches the online contest for all computer enthusiasts, participating in the contest.
In 2018, the final round of the Youth IT Contest in Ho Chi Minh City have 524 contestants have passed the preliminary round at the district level and more than 18,205 application of the online preliminary qualifying round. Of which, primary school students have 197 students, junior high school students 194 students, high school students 133 students. The Creative Software Contest has a total of 22 software with A1 (Primary), B1 (Secondary), C1 (High School). Organizing Committee also hosted “Youth IT workshop” at 83 schools in the city. The contest has wide access student, thereby helping schools search, screen and select candidates with the best achievements for district and city round.
Throughout the contest, students who passionate in informatics and creativity in schools have actively apply and link their knowledge, techniques to create many creative products in the Creative Software Contest, which also enhance connection among students who shares the same passion.
The award structure of the competition includes the Special Prize, 06 first prizes, 06 second prizes, 06 third prizes and encouraging prizes. The prize value is as follows:
- Special prize: VND 5,000,000/prize + Merit of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
- First prize: 5.000.000 VND/prize + Merit of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
- Second prize: VND 3,000,000/prize + Certicate from Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City
- Third prize: VND 2,000,000/prize + Certicate from Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City
- Encouraging prize: VND 1,000,000/prize + Certicate from Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City
